Bar Wicked is more than an annual pop-up concept in Alexandria, Virginia. Nestled above the iconic Del Ray Pizzeria in the 2nd story of the historic Yates-Barry House, it's a facade, a front for a sinister group of individuals who have been experimenting with the occult for decades…

The story begins in the early twentieth century. Dr. Evelyn Thorn, a brilliant but troubled scientist, was fascinated by the ancient texts of alchemy and witchcraft. Her research led her to a small group of like-minded individuals: Dr. Alistair Blackwood, a renowned archeologist with a penchant for the supernatural, and Dr. Sarah Harper, a respected medical professional with a dark fascination for the occult.

Together, they formed a secret society, a coven, dedicated to exploring the boundaries of magic and science. Their experiments were conducted in a hidden laboratory beneath the Yates-Barry House. Their work was dangerous, often bordering on the insane. They experimented with potions, spells, and rituals to unlock the secrets of immortality, power, and eternal youth.

Over time, the coven's experiments became more and more reckless. They began to experiment on unsuspecting victims, using them as test subjects... and sometimes sacrifices for their dark rituals. More than a few times, things got very messy. They eventually grew fearful of discovery, so the coven fled. For decades, they roamed the earth refining their arts and learning more from ancient sites. They recruited new members and became more powerful than ever.

But to stay young forever means constantly moving around to avoid suspicion and find new prey. This year, they decided it would be “good fun” to return to Del Ray and lease back part of the house where it all began. To get the supply of victims they need, they established a front: Bar Wicked. A seemingly ordinary cocktail lounge, it serves as a hunting ground for the coven. The bartenders, all members of the coven, will lure unsuspecting patrons into their lair, where some that stay a little too late may be subjected to their sinister experiments.

Some people are already whispering about Bar Wicked. They say that strange things happen there, that the drinks taste different, and that there's something off about the place. Some even claim to have heard strange noises coming from the kitchen. But no one dares to investigate. For those who do, the consequences can be dire…
